Jack Legrand, a distinguished Clemson University graduate of 1969, dedicated over four decades to education and athletics. After serving as a Counselor for Youthful Offenders with the South Carolina Department of Corrections from 1970 to 1972, he began his remarkable 38-year career as a teacher and track/cross country coach at Chapin High School. His contributions earned him the title of “Teacher of the Year” twice at Chapin High and five times in Lexington School District. Additionally, Jack coached the Columbia Colonial Life corporate track team, and his legacy remains in both the Chapin High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the South Carolina Track and Field Hall of Fame.
